About the Role

Baker McKenzie.Wong & Leow is seeking highly motivated mid-level to Senior Associates to join our Tax practice in Singapore.

You will work on a broad range of complex Singapore/APAC and international tax matters, including transfer pricing and non-transfer pricing mutual agreement procedure, advance pricing agreements, cross-border tax aspects of transactions, restructurings and other corporate arrangements, as well as broader tax advisory and contentious matters. You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers/tax and transfer pricing practitioners in Singapore and across our global network, with opportunities to take ownership of matters and workstreams, manage client relationships and supervise junior lawyers.

About the Practice

Our Tier 1 and Band 1 Tax practice advises on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious tax matters for domestic, regional and international clients. The team’s work spans transactions and restructurings, international tax planning, tax incentives, transfer pricing, tax controversies and emerging areas of tax law.

The Singapore team works closely with colleagues across Baker McKenzie’s global network on complex cross-border matters, providing associates with exposure to both Singapore and international tax work.

About the Candidate

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with strong tax experience, gained at a top-tier or international firm, tax administrations, or another relevant tax environment. You will have strong technical and analytical skills, sound legal judgement and a commercial and practical approach to advising on tax matters.

The role requires someone who is comfortable managing matters and workstreams with a good degree of independence, while working collaboratively across practice areas and jurisdictions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach are important, as is the ability to supervise and support junior lawyers. A proactive attitude and an interest in contributing to the continued development of the Tax practice are also essential.
