The Role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Trader to join our new and growing team in Singapore. The role will allow for learning opportunities while providing clear ownership to grow and develop into a full commercial role. This is a hands-on role with strong exposure to the physical base metals business

Key Responsibilities

• Own and develop an assigned market or region, identifying and securing new sales opportunities
• Support senior traders (whenver required) in sourcing, pricing, and executing physical metal trades
• Monitor market prices (LME, regional premiums), freight rates, and industry news, and prepare regular market updates
• Build and maintain long term relationships with customers, suppliers, and service providers
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, finance, and Head Office in Korea on trades, shipments, payments, and documentation
• Track positions, P&L, and credit exposure, and assist with risk management and hedging activities
• Contribute to market research and identify new business opportunities in the region
• Independently price, negotiate, and close physical metal trades with customers
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, end-users, and distributors in your market
• Monitor market prices (LME, regional premiums), freight rates, and industry developments, and use these insights to shape your trading strategy
• Manage your positions, P&L, and credit exposure in line with company risk policies, including hedging where required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in commodity trading, trade operations, or a related area (metals experience is a plus)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; proficient in Excel
• Clear communicator, comfortable working with counterparties across different cultures and time zones
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well under pressure
• Willingness to travel regularly within the region
