Job Description

Responsibilities

Reports to: General Manager

Work location: Singapore

Employment type: Full-time, permanent

Role Overview: Lead end-to-end operational execution for hazardous-chemical cargoes — shipping, storage, terminals, customs and trade documentation — with full accountability for regulatory compliance, safety, cost control and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee end-to-end trade operations: vessel and schedule coordination, storage, terminal and warehouse arrangements for hazardous chemicals;

· Establish and enforce safety and compliance standards for the transport, storage and handling of hazardous substances, in line with the IMDG Code and Singapore regulations (including SCDF requirements);

· Manage the full trade-documentation workflow: letters of credit, bills of lading, certificates of origin and dangerous-goods declarations; coordinate Singapore Customs import/export declarations (TradeNet);

· Optimise logistics and supply-chain processes to lower costs and improve delivery reliability;

· Manage relationships with shipping lines, terminals, storage providers, freight forwarders and inspection agencies;

· Build and lead the operations team; implement SOPs, internal audits and emergency-response procedures;

· Coordinate with trading and finance to secure cargo delivery, inventory safety and controlled financial exposure.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree or above (Master's preferred) in Logistics, Supply Chain, Chemical Engineering, Maritime, Management or Finance;

· Minimum 8 years' experience in chemical/petrochemical trade operations, shipping logistics or supply-chain management, including at least 3 years in team management;

· Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping and road-transport markets and HSE requirements, with hands-on experience in olefin and other petrochemical trade logistics; knowledge of dangerous-goods transport and storage regulations (IMDG Code, Singapore hazardous-substance requirements) is preferred;

· Excellent process management, cross-functional coordination and problem-solving skills, with familiarity in trade compliance, risk and internal-control management;

· Fluent in English for business communication and Mandarin;
