Job Description
Responsibilities
The Project Director will lead, oversee, and optimize daily operations across multiple reinforced concrete (RC) structural projects. Working on behalf of a specialist structural subcontractor, this position is responsible for total operational success, including manpower planning, rebar logistics, site safety, engineering design/drawing review, client management, and strict financial cost control across all active sites.
Drive daily operational execution across all assigned site projects to ensure milestones, structural timelines, and quality standards are met.
Manage project site managers, engineers, and superintendents, serving as the senior escalation point for operational bottlenecks.
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for site logistics, material staging, concrete pours, and formwork cycles.
Formulate comprehensive manpower allocation strategies based on multi-site project schedules and peak structural demands.
Lead the recruitment, vetting, and onboarding of key operational personnel, site engineers, foremen, and skilled sub-tier labor/crews.
Monitor productivity metrics (e.g., cubic meters poured per man-hour, ton of rebar tied per day) and adjust crew sizing dynamically.
Oversee the end-to-end rebar management workflow, from schedule generation and cut-and-bend (C&B) lists to site delivery and placement.
Coordinate closely with rebar fabrication yards/suppliers to align deliveries with crane availability and poured structural sequences.
Monitor rebar tonnage usage, minimizing scrap rates and material waste on site.
Review and approve structural shop drawings, rebar detail drawings, and method statements prior to submission to Main Contractors/Consultants.
Resolve complex structural design issues, constructability clashes, and technical RFIs (Requests for Information).
Ensure strict adherence to inspection schedules (e.g., pre-pour formwork, rebar inspection, cube testing) to maintain concrete quality and structural compliance.
Full P&L responsibility for assigned RC structural projects.
Monitor project budgets, track labor costs, material usage, and equipment/plant rentals across all sites.
Manage progress billings, variation orders (VOs), claims, and sub-tier subcontractor payments in alignment with main contract conditions.
Enforce zero-harm site environments and ensure full compliance with regional safety regulations and site-specific HSE policies.
Oversee safe work procedures for high-risk RC activities, including heavy lifting, tower crane ops, rebar hoisting, deep excavation, and formwork shoring.
Lead regular safety audits and root-cause analysis for any site incidents or near-misses.
