Key Responsibilities1. Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery and capability.
- Manage existing suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Source materials, components, tooling and services according to company requirements.
- Conduct supplier evaluation, performance monitoring and improvement activities.
- Develop alternative suppliers and sourcing strategies to minimize supply risks.
2. Purchasing & Material Planning
- Manage purchase requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders and supplier follow-ups.
- Ensure materials are purchased at the right quality, quantity, price and delivery time.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules and follow up on delays or shortages.
- Coordinate with Planning, Production, Warehouse, Quality and Engineering to ensure material availability.
- Support urgent and critical material requirements to avoid production disruption.
3. Cost & Commercial Management
- Obtain and analyze supplier quotations and conduct price comparisons.
- Lead price negotiation, cost reduction and commercial improvement initiatives.
- Monitor material pricing, market trends and supplier cost changes.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing, supplier development and volume negotiation.
- Maintain competitive purchasing costs while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
4. Supplier Quality & Performance
- Monitor supplier performance including Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD).
- Work with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
- Support supplier corrective actions and improvement activities.
- Participate in supplier audits and qualification activities where required.
5. Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain purchasing records, supplier database and sourcing documentation.
- Prepare purchasing, supplier performance and cost-saving reports.
- Monitor open PO, overdue delivery and outstanding supplier issues.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and approval requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to purchasing and supplier management.
6. Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Guide junior purchasing/sourcing team members and support daily purchasing activities.
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Planning, Production, Quality, Finance and Warehouse teams.
- Support management in sourcing strategy, supplier development and procurement improvement initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing, Purchasing or Procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience in Sheet Metal, CNC Machining, Precision Engineering or Industrial Manufacturing is an advantage.
- Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation and cost management skills.
- Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and technical requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Mandarin speaking is an advantage for communication with China-based suppliers.
- Willing to travel for supplier visits or business requirements when necessary.
Pay: RM4,600.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
