Technical Engineer / Senior Engineer (Microsoft Services) – L2 / L3

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Engineer / Senior Engineer (Microsoft Services) to support the design, implementation, deployment and troubleshooting of Microsoft infrastructure and End User Computing (EUC) solutions across enterprise customer environments.

This is a hands-on, project-based technical role involving physical deployment, system configuration, migration, upgrades and integration activities. The ideal candidate should have practical experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Azure, SCCM and Microsoft infrastructure technologies.

This role is not primarily a remote System Administrator / Operations Support position. Candidates with strong hands-on deployment, implementation and project experience will be highly preferred.

What You'll Be Doing

Plan, implement and configure Microsoft infrastructure and EUC solutions including:

• Active Directory (AD)
• Microsoft Exchange
• Microsoft 365 / Office 365
• Microsoft Azure
• SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
• Windows Server / Windows OS
• Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure
• Other Microsoft infrastructure and EUC technologies

Perform hands-on deployment and implementation activities including:

• Microsoft infrastructure deployment
• System setup and configuration
• Infrastructure upgrades
• System migration
• Environment integration
• Deployment and commissioning
• Customer site implementation

Manage and support Microsoft infrastructure projects including:

• Active Directory implementation and migration
• Exchange implementation, migration and upgrades
• Microsoft 365 / Office 365 deployment
• SCCM implementation
• Infrastructure upgrades
• System integration
• Microsoft technology migration projects

Provide L2/L3 technical support and resolve complex technical issues by:

• Troubleshooting Microsoft infrastructure issues
• Performing root-cause analysis
• Resolving complex technical incidents
• Implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Coordinating with customers and vendors
• Managing technical escalations
• Minimizing system downtime and service disruption

Work closely with customers, vendors and internal technical teams to:

• Understand technical requirements
• Plan project implementation activities
• Coordinate deployment schedules
• Resolve technical issues
• Provide technical recommendations
• Ensure successful project delivery

Support Microsoft Exchange environments including:

• On-premise Exchange Server
• Virtualized Exchange environments
• Exchange migration and upgrades
• Exchange Web Services (EWS)
• MAPI protocols
• Exchange troubleshooting and integration

Support integration with third-party enterprise solutions including:

• Symantec Enterprise Vault
• EAS
• EMC SourceOne
• EmailXtender
• Other equivalent email archiving solutions
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers through mentoring, troubleshooting support and knowledge sharing
• Implement quality assurance measures to ensure Microsoft solutions are properly configured, tested and delivered according to project and customer requirements
• Identify and implement continuous service improvements to enhance technical efficiency, service delivery and customer satisfaction
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, project records, implementation documents and technical reports
• Travel within the Klang Valley and attend customer sites for deployment, implementation and project activities when required

Experience with virtualized environments such as:

• VMware
• Microsoft Hyper-V

Experience with third-party enterprise solutions such as:

• Symantec Enterprise Vault
• EAS
• EMC SourceOne
• EmailXtender
• Other email archiving and Microsoft-integrated solutions

Strong ability to:

• Perform hands-on Microsoft infrastructure deployment
• Troubleshoot complex L2/L3 technical issues
• Manage technical implementation and migration projects
• Perform system upgrades and integrations
• Analyze infrastructure problems and identify root causes
• Coordinate with customers and vendors
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Work under tight project deadlines
• Manage multiple technical activities concurrently

Minimum 4 years of experience in:

• Microsoft infrastructure
• EUC solutions
• Microsoft technical implementation

• L2/L3 technical support
• Microsoft project-based environments

Hands-on experience in:

• Active Directory
• Microsoft Exchange
• Microsoft 365 / Office 365
• Microsoft Azure
• SCCM
• Windows Server
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft infrastructure deployment and migration
• Strong project-based implementation and deployment experience is highly preferred
• Candidates with purely remote System Administrator / Operations Support experience without hands-on deployment or project implementation exposure are not preferred
• Experience with Exchange Server environments, including on-premise and virtualized environments using VMware or Hyper-V, is highly preferred
• Experience integrating third-party email archiving solutions such as Symantec Enterprise Vault, EAS, EMC SourceOne or EmailXtender is an advantage
• Valid Microsoft certifications are required

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
