Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Head of Curatorial to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, animal welfare, and development of Underwater World Langkawi's aquarium. The successful candidate will lead the Curatorial team, ensure high standards of livestock care, and drive continuous improvement in aquarium operations, research, conservation, and educational initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Biology/Marine Biology or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the aquarium, marine science, aquaculture, or a related field.
• Proven management experience with the ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily aquarium operations, maintenance, and the overall development of the Curatorial Department.
• Lead and supervise the Curatorial team to ensure smooth operations, effective workforce planning, and high operational standards.
• Recommend and coordinate the procurement of equipment, machinery, exhibits, livestock, and other resources to maintain and enhance aquarium quality.
• Monitor the health and welfare of displayed and quarantined livestock, implementing preventive measures against disease outbreaks.
• Ensure optimal environmental conditions and life support systems for aquatic life.
• Establish networks with NGOs, government agencies, universities, and relevant organisations to support research, conservation, and educational initiatives.
• Support the development of Underwater World Langkawi as a centre for marine science, research, conservation, and breeding programmes.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
