About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and meticulous Financial Controller to oversee our finance and accounting operations. In this role, you will be a key business partner to senior leadership, ensuring statutory compliance, strengthening internal governance, driving fiscal discipline, and providing high-impact financial insights to support business growth and listed-company reporting requirements.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

A. Bursa Malaysia Financial Reporting & Statutory Compliance

  • Spearhead the timely preparation and review of quarterly interim financial results and full-year statutory financial statements in strict accordance with Bursa Malaysia Main/ACE Market Listing Requirements and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  • Liaise closely with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless reporting workflows.

B. Strategic Budgeting & Financial Forecasting

  • Architect annual corporate budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Track and evaluate actual performance against targets, pinpoint variances, and deliver actionable recommendations to optimize cash flow, margin performance, and cost efficiencies.

C. Commercial Financial Analysis & Decision Support

  • Conduct rigorous financial, product-costing, and operational analysis to guide C-suite decision-making.
  • Identify potential financial upside, evaluate capital expenditure investments, and model scenario-based strategies to maximize shareholder value.

D. Internal Controls & Corporate Governance

  • Build, implement, and continuously audit robust internal control frameworks to safeguard corporate assets and maintain financial integrity.
  • Ensure comprehensive operational compliance with statutory regulations, SOPs, and board-level governance standards.

E. Enterprise Risk Management

  • Formulate and execute proactive risk assessment and mitigation protocols across credit, liquidity, and operational exposures.
  • Institutionalize structured risk monitoring procedures to insulate the organization from financial vulnerabilities.

F. Stakeholder Engagement & Investor Relations

  • Translate complex financial results and operational metrics into clear, compelling narratives for executive management, board directors, institutional investors, and financiers.
  • Lead executive presentations on performance updates and strategic financial matters.

G. Special Projects & Ad-Hoc Initiatives

  • Direct ad-hoc strategic finance initiatives, corporate restructuring, system enhancements (ERP), or fund-raising exercises as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ICAEW, or MIA membership) is essential.
  • Minimum 8–10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within the manufacturing / industrial sector.
  • Proven track record in handling Bursa Malaysia listing requirements and public listed company (PLC) reporting cycles.
  • Strong acumen in financial modeling, cost accounting, corporate governance, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
