Responsibilities
Job Description:
- Perform structural integrity assessments for offshore and energy sector assets.
- Deliver fatigue and fracture mechanics studies for fixed and floating structures.
- Support structural life extension and asset integrity management programmes.
- Conduct engineering critical assessments (ECAs), fitness-for-service evaluations and defect assessments.
- Develop and review structural integrity methodologies, reports and technical deliverables.
- Undertake fatigue screening, detailed fatigue assessments and remaining life evaluations.
- Support inspection planning and risk-based integrity management strategies.
- Provide technical input to integrity management projects across offshore wind and oil & gas assets.
- Review engineering calculations, analysis results and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with structural, mechanical, inspection and materials engineering teams.
- Interface directly with UK-based project managers, clients and stakeholders.
- Support the development of junior engineers through technical mentoring and guidance.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
- Significant experience within structural integrity management, offshore structures or related engineering disciplines.
- Strong understanding of:
- Fatigue assessment methodologies
- Fracture mechanics
- Structural integrity management
- Fitness-for-service principles
- Engineering critical assessments (ECAs)
- Failure assessment diagrams (FADs)
- Experience supporting offshore oil & gas and/or offshore wind projects.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
- Ability to produce clear technical reports and engineering recommendations.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering consultancy environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
