About the Company
A global pioneer in smart commercial building technology, providing innovative environmental sensing hardware, intelligent analytics software, and expert consultation to help world-leading enterprises build healthier, safer, and more sustainable indoor environments.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Field Deployment Project Manager who is both a proactive project driver and a sharp technical troubleshooter. In this role, you will own the end-to-end rollout of environmental monitoring hardware and IoT gateways across occupied commercial real estate globally.
You will manage the journey from a closed deal to a fully live, data-reporting installation—coordinating General Contractors, low-voltage installers, facility managers, and client IT network administrators. When install day challenges arise, you take direct action to unblock teams, troubleshoot network bottlenecks, and resolve floor-plan mapping issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Close & Post-Close Scoping: Partner with Sales during the deal stage to evaluate building blueprints/floor plans, determining exact device quantities, placement, and gateway architecture.
- Project Management & Execution: Own the full deployment timeline across multiple accounts. Coordinate hardware logistics, verify prerequisites, and direct 3rd-party installers and GCs to keep rollouts on schedule.
- Technical Onsite Support: Lead pre-install technical preparations, ensuring client IT environments are configured for smooth integration—whether devices report to the cloud or integrate into a Building Management System (BMS).
- Advanced Diagnostics & Escalation: Act as the frontline technical expert during live installs. Independently troubleshoot and resolve live failures across power, physical cabling, IP/DHCP addressing, VLAN routing, and firewall/port whitelisting alongside the client's network team.
- Proactive Stakeholder Management: Communicate deployment progress transparently to internal stakeholders and enterprise clients, making sound commercial and operational decisions under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- 3+ Years Field Hardware Deployment: Experience installing or deploying physical hardware (IoT, low-voltage, AV, security, telecom, or BMS) in occupied commercial buildings. (SaaS/software PMs will not qualify).
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read floor plans and schematics to map out device placement.
- Field Networking: Hands-on ability to troubleshoot IP, DHCP/DNS, firewall rules, and switch ports with IT network leads.
- Contractor Management: Experience directing GCs, electricians, facilities leads, and enterprise IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to BMS and building automation systems.
- Experience with IoT sensors or indoor environmental monitoring.
- Knowledge of WELL, RESET, or LEED standards.
Engagement Terms & Work Schedule
- Contract Type: Independent Contractor agreement.
- Compensation: Competitive monthly retainer denominated in USD.
- Work Schedule: Core operating hours align with US Eastern Standard Time (EST).
- Flexibility Requirements: As rollouts occur across global time zones, occasional early morning or late evening calls may be required to brief local installation crews or unblock live site issues asynchronously.
