Hiring: Senior DevOps & Release Engineer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Contract: 12 Months

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps & Release Engineer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in AWS, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, release management, and hybrid infrastructure, with a focus on reliability and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and release processes across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and related tools.
• Manage deployments and operations across AWS and hybrid infrastructure, including VMware, Linux, Windows, containers, databases, and serverless services.
• Implement SRE practices to improve availability, scalability, monitoring, disaster recovery, and resilience.
• Integrate and maintain DevOps tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
• Develop automation scripts and support cloud-native services, messaging platforms, and AI-driven monitoring and anomaly detection.
• Ensure secure deployment practices and compliance with applicable technology and financial industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to improve deployment efficiency and operational reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation, release governance, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance in 24x7 mission-critical environments.
• Support customer-facing engagements and production issues when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, automation, and release management.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS; exposure to Azure, GCP, or Alibaba Cloud is an advantage.
• Strong experience with CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Experience with VMware, Linux, Windows Server, storage, networking, and data centre operations.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, IAM, SSO, and messaging services.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Good understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, security, compliance, and release governance.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated environments is an advantage.
