Role description

Looking for an exceptional backend focused full stack engineer.

You’ll own the backend of Okudu AI, a growing storytelling app, and work across the stack. This might be the ideal job if you could be a TL at a big tech company but would rather scale a product by taking real responsibility. You’ll scale our infrastructure, currently built on Firebase, to millions of users while improving performance, reliability and cost efficiency. Your work spans APIs, data systems and AI integrations, along with the automated testing, deployments, monitoring and security that keep them running.

• You'll be the 6th team member and 2nd engineer, directly working with Reha Hoshanli (founder), Samson Ong (engineering), Lena Zhang (marketing), Rini Shafeqah (product design), to-be-announced (creative).
• You’ll be joining a growing AI startup that has found product-market fit, where you can make a real impact.
• Competitive base + bonus/equity based on business performance.
• 4 days in the office (Singapore) with flexibility when needed.
• Singapore citizens and PRs will be prioritized.

This might be a fit if you

• Have 4-10 years of experience, a CS/SE degree or equivalent experience, and a deep understanding of software principles.
• Have owned backend systems used at scale.
• Have made and can defend significant architecture decisions.
• Ship code with agentic AI and evals.
• Thrive in a lean environment where ownership and ambition matter.
• Are smart, curious, kind.
