Job Description
Responsibilities
Because catching the bad guys starts with an environment you can rely on
To extend our multidisciplinary team, we are now hiring a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer. Does a reliable deployment pipeline give you that quiet satisfaction others get from inbox zero? Do you automate repetitive work before it becomes somebody’s daily routine? Do you enjoy making cloud environments work reliably for the people who depend on them? We are hiring two engineers who like getting things right and making them better. Whether your strongest suit is cloud operations, infrastructure automation or systems engineering, we’d love to hear how you could strengthen our team.
As our Cloud Engineer, you build, maintain and improve both the cloud infrastructure behind our security services and the internal IT our colleagues use every day.
You make deployments repeatable, keep systems observable and manage infrastructure as code. You also work with identities, accounts, laptops and Microsoft 365. Some days you improve a deployment pipeline. Other days you solve an access issue or automate something your colleagues have been doing manually for far too long.
You work closely with developers and security specialists to keep applications and infrastructure secure, reliable and maintainable. You discuss technical choices, challenge assumptions and document how everything fits together. You like practical solutions that work for the people using them.
We’re hiring two engineers, and they don’t need to have the same background. You might be strongest in cloud infrastructure, automation and deployment. Or your experience might be in systems administration, identity management and internal IT. If you recognise yourself in part of this role, we’d like to hear from you. We’ll look at how your skills complement the team and the other new colleague, then divide responsibilities accordingly.
You don’t need to know every tool we use. You do need a solid technical foundation, a willingness to learn and the flexibility to help outside your own specialism when needed. And if you find yourself fixing the same thing twice, you’ll probably start looking for a way to automate it.
Please note: this is a wish list, not a bingo card. If you recognise yourself in most of it and can explain how you would grow into the rest, we encourage you to apply. At Hunt & Hackett, your potential and ability to learn count for a lot.
Only very talented, multidisciplinary teams of threat hunters, intelligence analysts, reverse engineers, data scientists, developers and hackers can outsmart the increasingly professional community of cyber attackers.
We pride ourselves on being a force for good. That is why we think and act as responsible rebels. Everyone at Hunt & Hackett wants to be the best in their field and focuses on delivering the next generation of security services.
This means that we live by:
Security first: Security is a foundational core value. You prioritize it in every aspect of your work.
Pushing the envelope: You take responsibility for making our work better every day. Sometimes that means coloring outside the lines when needed.
Everything is important: Tiny details can have a huge impact, especially in security. You keep the bigger picture in sight without overlooking the details.
Perseverance: Some challenges take hours to solve. Others take considerably longer. You keep going, learn from setbacks and work towards a solution.
Ego is the enemy: You challenge yourself and others, welcome better arguments and keep the shared goal in sight.
We'd love to hear from you! To apply, please fill out the form below. If you're reading this on a job posting site, head over to our website: *************

Joining Hunt & Hackett should be the right move for you and for us. We're looking for more than a signature on a contract: we're looking for a colleague to build, learn and take on challenges with. Our application process gives both sides the chance to ask questions, get beyond first impressions and see whether we're a good match.
1. Introduction; what makes you tick?
We want to get to know you: your background, your interests, what you're looking for and what gets you excited about your work. Naturally we'll also introduce ourselves, tell you more about Hunt & Hackett and the role, and make room for your questions.
2. Take-home assignment; a taste of the work.
The assignment gives you a preview of the challenges you'll tackle in this role. For us, it's a chance to understand how you analyze a problem, make choices and explain your reasoning. We'll explain what's expected before you get started.
3. Second meeting; let's look under the hood.
We'll discuss your assignment and the thinking behind it, explore your approach and dive deeper into the role. It's also your opportunity to challenge us on how we work.
4. Third meeting; beyond the job description.
By now, we've covered a lot of ground. This conversation focuses on our culture, how we work together and any questions still on the table. We want both sides to have a clear picture before deciding to move forward.
5. The final checks; then let's get started.
If we decide to move forward together, we'll discuss the offer and next steps. Pre-employment screening will start after you’ve signed your contract.
We like to do our own matchmaking. Recruitment agencies, please don't call us. We'll call you (actually, we probably won't).
