What You'll Be Doing?


The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of mechanical equipment and plant facilities through effective maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement.


Main Responsibilities


  • Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and also support PM, PdM, TBM & Turnaround Planning.
  • Coordinate manpower, contractors, materials, and spare parts for daily and planned maintenance.
  • Analyse equipment failure trends & vibration data
  • Prepare specs for major equipment repair/refurbishment
  • Lead breakdown analysis & reliability improvement (MOC, Kaizen, pump upgrades)
  • Coordinate with OEMs for support & warranty.
  • Track KPIs (MTBF, MTTR) and drive improvements
  • Monitor and manage maintenance budget and spare parts inventory.
  • Perform SAP–PM planner role
  • Lead plant shutdowns, statutory inspections, and coordinate with government bodies.
  • Maintain proper documentation, SOPs, and records to support audits and internal controls.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, machinery maintenance, or a similar industrial environment.
  • Experience in or exposure to continuous process plants is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of rotating equipment, static equipment, and piping systems.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP-PM for maintenance planning and work management.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools and techniques for equipment failure investigation.
  • Knowledge and practical exposure to vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, OEMs, and external service providers.
  • Candidates with experience in plant shutdowns, turnaround maintenance, statutory inspections, and reliability improvement projects will have an added advantage.
