Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on, data-driven Fraud Lead to own payment fraud and chargeback risk for Banxa, a global fiat-to-crypto on- and off-ramp that processes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and bank rails for hundreds of partners.

You will be the single accountable owner for fraud at Banxa: our losses, our controls, our vendors and our response when an attack lands. You'll set the strategy and lead a small fraud and risk-ops team, and you'll also work in the rules engines and the data every day.

A core part of your remit is to let Banxa grow safely. That means getting chargebacks and scheme ratios under control while opening up more approvals, more payment methods (APMs, PayPal, etc) and more markets (SEA, LatAm, Africa, etc), instead of blocking them.

Key Responsibilities

Fraud Strategy & Ownership: Own Banxa's fraud loss, chargeback rate and approval rate end to end. Set the fraud strategy across geos, payment methods and partners, and be the person the business can rely on when there's a decision to make or an attack in progress.

Incident Response & Attack Containment: Build and run the playbook for live fraud attacks: detection, on-call coverage, the right production permissions, kill switches and post-incident reviews. You'll aim to contain attacks in minutes, not hours, and make sure the resp
