Job Summary

We are looking for a Release Operations / DevOps Engineer to support software release and deployment activities in a large-scale production environment. The role involves monitoring CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting release failures, performing remediation, coordinating release schedules, and ensuring smooth and reliable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CI/CD pipelines, build progress, deployment status, and automated test results.
  • Respond promptly to release alerts and investigate pipeline or deployment failures.
  • Review logs, exceptions, build outputs, and test failures to identify root causes.
  • Classify issues such as infrastructure, application, capacity, or intermittent/test-related failures.
  • Perform standard remediation based on documented runbooks, including retrying failed deployment steps where appropriate.
  • Coordinate release activities around upstream dependencies, maintenance windows, and code freezes.
  • Monitor release timelines and highlight potential delays or risks early.
  • Maintain and update operational runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and remediation steps.
  • Ensure rollback procedures are understood and available before higher-risk releases.
  • Prepare clear shift handover reports and daily/weekly operational summaries.
  • Identify recurring release issues and trends for further investigation by senior technical teams.
  • Escalate complex infrastructure or deployment issues with complete details, including logs, troubleshooting performed, issue classification, and actions taken.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years hands-on experience or good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software deployment/release processes.
  • Comfortable working with Linux and command-line tools and reviewing system/application logs.
  • Basic understanding of version control, including branches, merges, and reverts.
  • Ability to interpret build, deployment, and automated test failures.
  • Good troubleshooting, debugging, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills.
  • Experience with web infrastructure, production environments, or large-scale systems is an advantage.
  • Systems Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Production Support, or Release Engineering experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to create structured operational reports and provide clear technical escalations.

Preferred Mindset

  • Calm and composed when handling high-priority production or release issues.
  • Able to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
  • Detail-oriented with strong ownership and follow-through.
  • Clear communicator, particularly for shift handovers, incident updates, and escalations.
  • Quick learner who can adapt to new internal tools, processes, and environments.
