Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Preparation & Setup:
Prepare all necessary materials, apparatus, and specimens for daily science lessons and annual practical tests. Test experimental setups beforehand to ensure flawless functionality and safety.
In-Class Teaching Support:
Actively assist teachers during practical lessons, live science demonstrations, and experiments.
Housekeeping & Maintenance:
Clean, wash, and safely store laboratory apparatus, glassware, and equipment after use. Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of laboratories, prep rooms, and storage spaces.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Enforce strict compliance with school laboratory safety guidelines. Maintain up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure all chemical or biological containers are accurately labeled and safely handled.
Inventory Management:
Conduct regular stock-taking, update inventory logs, and assist in compiling procurement proposals for science materials. Verify incoming material deliveries against orders.
Green & Departmental Initiatives:
Upkeep the indoor hydroponic systems, care for live plant specimens used in lessons, and prepare materials for science recess activities.
Confidentiality:
Sign and adhere to a strict official undertaking to safeguard school information.
Job Requirements
Education:
Minimum
GCE 'O' Level certificate with passes in Science subjects
, OR a
Nitec / Higher Nitec in a science-related discipline
.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of scientific apparatus and competence in handling simple chemical reagents.
Experience:
Prior experience in an MOE school laboratory environment is an advantage, but
fresh graduates are highly welcome
to apply.
Physical Fitness:
Must be physically fit to handle active, daily laboratory duties (moving apparatus, setup, and cleanup).
Soft Skills & Personal Qualities:
Responsible, highly safety-conscious, and exceptionally organized.Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.Strong communication and housekeeping skills.
Working Hours:
Mondays to Fridays: 7:15 am to 2:15 pm (inclusive of a 30-minute meal break).
No service required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.
