Role Introduction

Reports to: Assistant Engineering Manager (TPE)

Location/ Country: Taipei/ Taiwan

Lead safe, reliable line maintenance operations in Taipei by supervising and certifying routine and non-routine work for Cathay Group and, where applicable, third-party customer aircraft. Working on a shift basis, you will apply sound technical judgement while ensuring company, customer and authority standards are consistently met.

Guide Aircraft Mechanics, coordinate with operational teams and oversee station readiness, supplier performance and safety compliance. Your leadership will help protect on-time performance, cabin experience and every customer’s confidence in their journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and certify routine and non-routine maintenance for Cathay Group and, where applicable, third-party customer aircraft on a shift basis.
• Coordinate with operational teams to deliver a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience.
• Ensure compliance with local Occupational Health and Safety standards, regulations and guidelines.
• Oversee third-party ground handling supplier performance and maintain the availability, serviceability and cleanliness of station equipment, vehicles and facilities.
• Complete station duties, ensuring documentation and access passes remain current and valid.
• Undertake local or overseas operational relief duties, non-operational assignments and projects as required.
• Manage the performance and conduct of Aircraft Mechanics in line with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement through quality innovation, teamwork and lean processes that support efficiency, productivity and commercial improvement.
• Lead, coach and develop Engineers and Mechanics through knowledge sharing, performance dialogue and clear communication of departmental goals.
• Support emergency, accident and crisis response responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Taiwan Permanent Resident or Taiwan Employment Gold Card holder.
• Hold a B1 or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence issued by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department or an equivalent authority, with an appropriate aircraft type endorsement.
• Bring a minimum of five years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environment as a certifying engineer.
• Demonstrate solid operational and technical knowledge.
• Possess good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Show demonstrable success in leading and coaching Mechanics and Engineers.
• Be available to work on a shift basis in a safety-sensitive operational role.
• Be prepared to undertake local or overseas operational relief duties when required.
