Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
2–5 years of hands‑on customs clearance experience in Malaysia, with a good understanding of Royal Malaysian Customs procedures.
Familiar with Malaysian customs regulations (Customs Act 1967, Sales Tax Act 2018) and aware of PDPA compliance requirements.
Proficient in operating the SMK system and electronic declaration processes; holding a Customs Agent License is an advantage.
Skilled in HS Code classification, with knowledge of tariff policies for electronics/electronic components preferred.
Proficient in Mandarin and English (able to read and write in Malay) – required for liaising with China HQ and local customs authorities.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Detail‑oriented, numerically sensitive, with strong time‑management and multi‑tasking abilities.
Able to work under pressure and accommodate overtime during peak clearance periods.
Responsibilities
【Key Responsibilities】
Handle import/export customs clearance operations, including import K1 declarations, export K2 declarations, and transit K8 declarations.
Proficiently operate the Malaysian customs electronic declaration system SMK (Sistem Maklumat Kastam) for daily clearance tasks.
Accurately classify HS Codes and calculate import duties, Sales Tax, and Excise Duty where applicable.
Process various Certificates of Origin and FTA preferential tariff applications (Form D, Form E, Form AK, etc.) to secure tariff benefits for clients.
Review and prepare import/export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, and K1/K2 forms.
Maintain good communication with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Kastam Diraja Malaysia) regarding inspections, valuation, and commodity classification.
Monitor clearance progress, promptly resolve anomalies, detention, and rejection issues to ensure on‑time delivery.
Assist in applying for import permits (Permit) for restricted/controlled goods to ensure compliant clearance.
Ensure all clearance activities comply with the Customs Act 1967, Sales Tax Act 2018, and other relevant Malaysian import/export regulations.
Liaise with the China headquarters operations team to coordinate cross‑border handovers and provide timely clearance status updates.
