Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 7 years of working experience in a precision machining environment, with at least 2 years in a management position.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in production planning, production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation.

  • Must have working knowledge and experience in MRP and ERP systems, particularly for production planning, material planning, work orders, inventory, and production monitoring.

  • Good technical skills in mechanical engineering, material science, machining processes, and quality control.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP systems, Microsoft Office, Power BI, and CAD/CAM.

  • Proficiency in quality control principles, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.

  • Experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop production teams effectively.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organisational skills.

  • Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented with the ability to manage a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Willing to work at Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, Selangor.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Production Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic production plans, including capacity planning and resource allocation, to meet business demands. Analyse production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimise utilisation and maximise throughput. Manage production budgets and ensure operations remain within financial targets. Must have good knowledge and practical experience in production planning and scheduling.

  • MRP & ERP Management: Utilise and manage MRP/ERP systems for production planning, material requirements, work order management, inventory monitoring, production scheduling, and reporting. Ensure effective coordination between production plans, material availability, machine capacity, and customer delivery requirements.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the entire production team, including Team Leads, Operators, and Engineers. Set performance expectations, conduct appraisals, identify training needs, and coach Team Leads to foster a culture of high performance and quality.

  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high quality standards throughout the machining process. Ensure all production steps are carried out according to instructions and best practices. Oversee investigations into quality issues, identify root causes, implement preventive actions, and drive a zero-defect mindset.

  • Continuous Improvement:Drive improvements in processes, reduce waste in materials, time, and resources, and improve productivity. Apply methodologies such asLean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0. Encourage improvements and ensure effective implementation of SOPs and work

  • Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support to the production team in troubleshooting complex machining challenges. Recommend and implement investments in new technologies, machinery, tooling, and software to enhance manufacturing capabilities and output.

  • Preventive Maintenance & Safety: Implement preventive maintenance strategies for machinery and tooling to minimise downtime and maintain accuracy. Ensure the production facility operates in compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.   • Reporting & Cost Control:Define, track, and analyse key production KPIs, including quality performance, delivery performance, labour and machine utilisation, productivity, and overall cost control. Manage inventory levels and monitor costs related to manpower, tooling, maintenance, lubricants, electricity, and other production resources. UtilisePower BI and ERP/MRP systems for planning, analysis, and reporting.
