Role Description The Senior Software Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur, with flexibility for part-time work from home. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs that support AI-driven solutions for financial and enterprise clients. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, reviewing code from peers, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and implementing best practices in performance, security, and reliability. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product managers, data scientists, and domain experts, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions. The Senior Software Engineer will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and participate in continuous improvement of engineering processes and tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade systems and services.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns for scalable and maintainable code.
• Experience with modern backend languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Comfort working in agile or iterative development environments and using version control tools such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in financial services or AI-driven solutions is an advantage.
