• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying

• Relevant experience in pre-contract quantity surveying, tender preparation or cost estimation in the construction industry

• Experience with a main contractor is an added advantage

• Good understanding of construction drawings, Bills of Quantities, cost estimation and tender pricing

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including standard forms such as PAM, JCT or FIDIC

• Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting and financial forecasting

• Good understanding of contract law and dispute resolution procedures

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management systems and estimating software

• Good communication, coordination and time-management skills

• Able to work independently and meet tight tender submission deadlines

Job Overview

Gadang Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Junior Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Contract / Tender) to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This role is important for contract administration, cost control and financial management across our construction projects. You will help make sure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high quality, and you will work on significant construction projects across various sectors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tender documents, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates and tender pricing

• Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis based on construction drawings and specifications

• Obtain, evaluate and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, rate build-ups and tender estimates

• Analyse material, labour, plant and equipment costs to ensure accurate and competitive tender pricing

• Coordinate with the technical, planning, procurement and project teams to gather tender information

• Review tender requirements, specifications and contractual conditions to ensure compliance

• Take part in tender clarification, commercial evaluation and cost optimisation exercises

• Make sure tender submissions are complete, accurate and submitted before the deadline

• Maintain accurate contract and financial records, in line with company policies and industry standards
