Key Responsibilities
Businessmodels and technology-stack alignment | Primary priority
Assess selected customer segments andbusiness models across the AI infrastructure value chain, identifying whereFirmus can create differentiated value. Examine customer needs, competitivepositioning, revenue models and the capabilities required to serve eachopportunity.
Develop comparative business cases coveringcapital requirements, operating costs, utilisation, margins and time to market.Test the assumptions that materially affect the economics, distinguish evidencefrom hypotheses, and identify the opportunities that warrant further investmentor validation.
Translate the commercial findings intotechnology-stack requirements and build, buy or partner options. Work withengineering, commercial and finance colleagues to connect recommendations toconcrete architecture choices, capability investments and partnershipdecisions, presenting a prioritised shortlist to the CTO.
Hardware strategy and supply resilience | Supporting priority
Use Firmus’ NVIDIA DSX Platform alignmentas the starting point for assessing how the hardware stack supports thepreferred business models. Work with engineering and procurement leads in theAI Factory Development division, alongside CTO architecture specialists, tounderstand performance opportunities, critical dependencies and areas whereflexibility has strategic value.
Evaluate where alternative components orsecond sourcing justify the engineering effort, considering integration,qualification, software compatibility, support, lead times and total cost ofownership. This is a hardware-design and capability assessment, not simply asupplier risk review.
Develop a prioritised set of design andsourcing actions, identifying the expected benefit, validation required,delivery dependencies and proposed owner. Technical validation and designapproval remain with the relevant engineering leads; procurement and investmentcommitments remain with authorised Firmus decision-makers.
Skills & Experience
Required Skills
Strong problem-solving, commercial analysisand financial modelling skills, with the ability to turn incomplete informationinto clear recommendations. Able to work with technical specialists andcommunicate concise findings to senior leaders.
Preferred Experience
Experience in strategy consulting,commercial semiconductors or technology markets is particularly relevant. AnMBA or related postgraduate study is advantageous, together with curiosityabout AI infrastructure and the economics of large-scale computing.
