About the Company

Adecco is partnering with a MNC distributor of industrial chemicals and raw materials to appoint a Business Development Manager for its Malaysia business. With an established regional presence, the company is looking to accelerate its growth in Malaysia by developing new markets, applications and customer segments beyond its existing portfolio.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager (SEA), you will take ownership of new business development in Malaysia. This is a commercially driven role suited to someone who enjoys building markets, opening new accounts and identifying new applications rather than purely managing an existing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new markets, applications and business opportunities across Malaysia.
• Build new customer relationships across industrial and manufacturing sectors.
• Develop opportunities within areas such as specialty chemicals, polymers, plastics, electronics, coatings and other industrial materials.
• Manage the full commercial cycle from market mapping and prospecting through to negotiation and account development.
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and principals.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and regional stakeholders.
• Provide market intelligence on customer demand, competitors and emerging industry opportunities.
• Deliver sustainable revenue and margin growth while developing a healthy new-business pipeline.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in sales or business development within industrial chemicals, specialty chemicals, polymers, plastics, electronics materials or related industrial products.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience opening new markets or building business from the ground up.
• Exposure to a distribution/trading environment would be relevant.
• Comfortable operating independently and developing relationships across the Malaysian industrial market.
