Job Overview

• Responsible for leading and managing the full project lifecycle of electrical substation projects, particularly TNB projects involving 132kV and above. This includes project planning, procurement, engineering, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Oversee project execution, coordinate with clients,local authority, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams and ensure all project activities are completed safely, quality standards and project timelines.
• Lead and manage the overall execution of electrical substation projects from project commencement through to completion and handover.
• Develop detailed project execution plans, work programmes, project schedules, budgets and resource allocation plans.
• Ensure project activities are completed within the agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality requirements.
• Coordinate substation construction and installation activities involving power transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protection and control systems, busbars, cables and other associated electrical equipment.
• Prepare and submit regular project progress reports, work schedules, progress claims and other contractual documents.
• Ensure all project activities comply with electrical safety regulations, occupational safety requirements, quality standards and TNB Grid Development (GD) construction practices.
• Coordinate site inspections, quality audits and corrective actions to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.
• Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with approved safety procedures, particularly during high-voltage installation, testing and commissioning activities.

Job Requirements

1. Education & Technical Background

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised and accredited university.
• At least 5 years and above of working experience in electrical substation project management or project engineering.
• Proven experience in executing and commissioning high-voltage substation projects of 132kV and above.
• Hands-on experience managing the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Experience working on TNB Grid Development (GD) projects would be an added advantages.
• Possession of a valid Grid Contractor Qualified Person (GCQP/GCWP) qualification, where applicable, is highly desirable.
• Receiving Authorised Authority (RAA) qualification or relevant authorisation is an added advantage.
• Willing to travel to project sites and attend meetings when required.
• Possess own transport and a valid driving licence.
