Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced AI Governance & Compliance Lead to oversee AI governance, technology risk, and regulatory compliance within a financial services environment.

The successful candidate will operationalise AI governance frameworks, ensure regulatory alignment, and provide oversight across enterprise AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and operationalise AI governance policies and frameworks for the Malaysia entity.
• Maintain an inventory of AI initiatives, including risk classifications, controls, and approval workflows.
• Oversee AI use cases across productivity, data analytics, fraud detection, and customer-facing applications.
• Conduct AI risk assessments and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
• Ensure alignment with Bank Negara Malaysia's Risk Management in Technology (BNM RMiT) framework and Malaysia's National Guidelines on AI Governance and Ethics.
• Maintain audit evidence, control documentation, and AI risk registers.
• Coordinate with business, IT, risk, compliance, and senior management stakeholders.
• Support the development of a scalable AI governance operating model and future ISO/IEC 42001 readiness.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in technology risk, IT audit, governance, or compliance.
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries is highly preferred.
• Exposure to AI, data, or technology programmes in a governance, risk, or compliance capacity.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, model risk, data governance, and AI lifecycle management.
• Working knowledge of BNM RMiT or equivalent technology risk frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications

• CRISC
• ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer
• CGEIT or equivalent GRC certification
