Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and customer-oriented Barista to join our team at our retail supermarket. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving quality coffee and beverages, providing excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and ensuring the smooth daily operation of the beverage counter.

This role is suitable for individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other hot and cold beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and professional customer service.
• Take customer orders, process payments, and operate the POS or cash register when required.
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee counter, equipment, utensils, and work area.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies, and inform the supervisor when replenishment is required.
• Assist with stock receiving, product rotation, and inventory checks.
• Ensure all beverages are prepared consistently and served within an appropriate time.
• Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and service standards.
• Support daily opening and closing activities, including equipment cleaning and preparation.
• Assist with promotional activities and other duties assigned by the supervisor or store management.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Previous barista, café, food and beverage, or retail experience is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates and candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply, with training provided.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage-making techniques is an advantage.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Positive attitude, responsible, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work on a rotating shift, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work in a fast-paced supermarket retail environment.
