Responsibilities:
Monthly and IFRS Reporting
Engage in monthly and IFRS reporting tasks to familiarize with the current reporting structure before the implementation of new standards
Prepare financial and management reporting, as well as financial analysis, under IFRS 17
IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 Implementation
Assist in building a sound management information and financial analytical framework for IFRS 17 and IFRS 9
Develop new IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting logic, accounting posting rules, and the chart of accounts
Participate in accounting system calibration, data and system gap assessment, and relevant infrastructure design
Conduct user acceptance testing and financial reports customization related to the implementation of new standards
Reporting and Control
Design or revamp relevant reporting controls and prepare management information (MI) or key performance indicators (KPIs) under the new standards
Enhance process documents to align with the requirements of IFRS 17 accounting standards
Stakeholder Support
Assist the CFO in preparing requests and selecting the most suitable solution for the implementation of new standards, for Steering Committee approval
Perform ad-hoc tasks and participate in other projects as required
Requirements:
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Professional accounting certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Experience
Minimum 5 years of work experience in IFRS17 finance or financial reporting within the insurance sector
2 years of experience in a leadership role is preferred
Extensive hands-on experience in insurance finance and familiarity with financial and regulatory requirements of the insurance industry
Audit experience in life insurance business and involvement in IFRS17-related work (highly desirable)
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Practical experience in finance accounting system implementation, including working knowledge of SunAccount (an asset)
Proficient in the use of technology, such as video conferencing (Microsoft Teams), WeChat, and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Personal Attributes
Detailed and meticulous, with strong analytical skills
Organized and disciplined in meeting project schedules
Able to work independently under pressure and demanding deadlines, with high self-initiative
Fluent in Mandarin, with good command of spoken and written Cantonese and English
