Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Title: Accountant

Duration: 1 year

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This opportunity sits within a global offshore energy business recognised for floating production, mooring systems, production operations, terminals and services. The role focuses on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, supporting business decision-making through analytics and data insights. This position will contribute to quarterly reporting, budget cycles, internal control compliance and ad hoc financial analysis in a technically demanding international environment.

Required Education

  • Master Degree in Finance, Economics, or a relevant postgraduate finance qualification

Required Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in an international audit firm and/or in a reporting position within an international environment
  • Experience supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
  • Experience preparing quarterly management reporting and analysing project, vessel, shore base or departmental performance
  • Experience working with year-end closing activities and external auditors

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • IFRS knowledge
  • Proficiency in Business Object, SAP and Excel
  • Ability to analyse over/under recoveries, SG&A costs, operating costs and headcount variance
  • Capability to prepare reporting submissions at project, vessel, department and consolidated level
  • Understanding of internal control and continuous improvement practices
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Fluent English

Required Certifications

  • CPA, ACCA, or equivalent finance qualification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional language capability
  • Experience with data migration
  • ERP experience
