The Hong Kong office is the group’s sourcing and production office. We work closely with the European headquarters and vendor factories, mainly located in Guangzhou, to support the development and production of fashion handbags for international markets.
The office mainly handles fashion handbags, especially leather handbags, and related fashion accessories. Our work covers sourcing, product development, merchandising, production follow-up, quality coordination and vendor management.
ROLE MISSION
To lead and manage the production merchandising process for fashion leather handbags, ensuring that orders, materials, production schedules, quality standards and delivery targets are well controlled from order placement to shipment.
ROLE SUMMARY
You will focus mainly on production merchandising for fashion leather handbags across three international fashion brands.
You will work closely with one Merchandiser to manage production follow-up, purchase orders, material readiness, production schedules, quality coordination and shipment arrangements.
You will be the key contact for vendor factories on production matters. You will monitor production progress, identify potential delays or quality issues early, and work with internal teams and vendors to provide practical solutions.
You will report to the Merchandising Manager and join a team of six members, including the Merchandising Manager, Merchandisers, R&D, QA and administrative support colleagues.
Occassional trip to Guangzhou to visit vendor factories, can same-day return travel to Hong Kong.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead the production merchandising process for fashion handbags, mainly leather handbags.
Work closely with one Merchandiser to manage daily production follow-up and order execution.
Arrange, issue and follow up purchase orders (POs) with vendor factories.
Monitor production schedules, capacity, material readiness, manufacturing progress and shipment plans.
Follow up with vendors from order placement to finished-goods delivery.
Ensure production milestones, delivery dates and customer requirements are achieved.
Communicate production requirements, approved changes, packing instructions and shipment details to vendors.
Follow up on leather, synthetic materials, trims, hardware, linings, packaging and other production materials.
Coordinate with QA colleagues on inspections, quality issues, rework, corrective actions and shipment approval.
Review production and quality problems, suggest solutions, and follow up until issues are resolved.
Visit vendor factories to review production progress, material status, workmanship and delivery readiness.
Update and maintain accurate order, production and shipment information in internal systems.
Prepare regular production reports and updates on PO status, production progress, quality issues and delivery plans.
Support the Merchandising Manager in monitoring seasonal collections, production capacity and key delivery milestones.
Maintain strong working relationships with vendor factories and internal departments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
5 years or above of relevant merchandising or production merchandising experience in the fashion handbag industry.
Strong experience in production follow-up, PO management, material follow-up, production scheduling and shipment coordination.
Experience with leather handbags is highly preferred.
Experience working with handbag vendor factories, especially factories in Guangzhou or Mainland China, is preferred.
Experience with international fashion brands or a fashion sourcing office is an advantage.
Good knowledge of handbag materials, construction, trims, hardware, linings, workmanship and production processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Good command of English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
TERMS & BENEFITS
5-day work week: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
13th-month salary plus performance-based bonus.
