We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Planner to plan, coordinate and monitor daily production activities to ensure customer orders are completed according to schedule.
The Production Planner will be responsible for controlling the production flow from order release until completion, coordinating closely with Production, Inventory, Quality, Logistics and Customer Service teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on confirmed orders, priorities and production capacity.
- Plan and schedule jobs according to machine capacity, manpower, material availability and required delivery date.
- Monitor the complete production flow and ensure jobs move according to schedule.
- Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) and identify jobs that are delayed, stuck or at risk of missing the delivery date.
- Follow up closely with Production PICs / Chasers on daily output and outstanding jobs.
- Compare planned output vs actual output and take immediate action when production falls behind schedule.
- Coordinate with Inventory to ensure fabric, materials and other production requirements are ready before production starts.
- Coordinate priorities for urgent orders, delayed orders and customer commitments.
- Monitor production capacity and prevent overloading or underutilisation of production sections.
- Communicate production status, expected completion dates and potential delays to relevant departments.
- Identify production bottlenecks and escalate issues requiring management attention.
- Maintain accurate production planning records, WIP status and production reports.
- Conduct daily production follow-up to ensure the production plan is executed, not merely prepared.
- Support continuous improvement of production planning, scheduling and workflow.
REQUIREMENTS / CRITERIA
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field.
- Candidates with strong relevant manufacturing experience may also be considered even without a degree.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Production Planning / Production Control / PPC within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience handling high-volume and fast-moving production is highly preferred.
- Candidates from Garment, Textile, Printing & Packaging or other production-intensive manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply.
- Must have actual experience preparing and controlling production schedules, not only production administration or reporting.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control (PPC).
- Able to calculate and understand production capacity, manpower capacity and machine capacity.
- Able to manage WIP and production priorities.
- Strong in production scheduling and follow-up.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work with Excel and production/ERP systems.
- Able to analyse production data and identify bottlenecks.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
