Job Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of IT application projects within the banking/financial services environment, from requirements gathering through implementation and post-production support.
• Lead project planning, scope definition, timelines, milestones, deliverables, resources and dependencies.
• Work closely with Business Users, Product Owners, Application Teams, Developers, QA, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance and external vendors.
• Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into clear technical and functional requirements.
• Coordinate application design, development, system integration, testing and implementation activities.
• Manage SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution and production readiness.
• Monitor project progress against agreed timelines, budget, scope and quality objectives.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
• Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards and management updates to senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate project meetings, steering committees and stakeholder discussions.
• Manage third-party vendors and ensure deliverables meet agreed SLA, scope, quality and timeline requirements.
• Coordinate application releases, production deployment, migration and implementation activities.
• Ensure appropriate technical and project documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work with support and operations teams to ensure smooth transition from project delivery into BAU / production support.
• Manage post-implementation activities, including production issues, lessons learned and project closure.
• Ensure projects comply with the bank's IT governance, security, risk management and regulatory requirements.

The IT Application Project Manager will typically oversee:

Requirements → Analysis → Solution Design → Development → SIT → UAT → Defect Resolution → Production Readiness → Deployment → Hypercare → BAU Handover

Required Technical / Project Skills

• Strong IT Application Project Management experience.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience managing application development and enhancement projects.
• Strong knowledge of SIT, UAT, regression testing and defect management.
• Experience managing application integration and system dependencies.
• Strong project planning, scheduling and delivery management skills.
• Risk, issue, dependency and change management.
• Vendor and stakeholder management.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project or similar tools.
• Good understanding of application architecture, APIs, databases and system integration is an advantage.

Banking / Regulatory Knowledge

• Experience working within a banking or financial-services environment.
• Understanding of banking IT governance and controls.
• Knowledge of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) requirements is advantageous.
• Exposure to RMiT, cybersecurity, information security, technology risk and regulatory compliance is preferred.
• Experience working with internal Risk, Compliance, Audit and Cybersecurity teams is an advantage
