Accounts Executive

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Executive to join our finance team. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, support month-end closing, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with company policies and statutory requirements. This role is well-suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and enjoys working with numbers, processes, and cross-department coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, and bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing, including preparation of management reports.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments and collections.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., SST, income tax, EPF, SOCSO, EIS) and coordinate with auditors, tax agents, and company secretary as needed.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.
• Support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and cost control activities.
• Liaise with internal departments (procurement, HR, operations) to ensure smooth financial workflows.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standard bookkeeping practices, with the ability to handle full spectrum accounts independently.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SQL Accounting, AutoCount, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of progress claims and Bankers' Acceptance (BA), particularly within a construction/engineering billing context.
• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small finance team.

Bonus / Added Advantage

• Proficiency in using cloud-based accounting software is a bonus.
• Prior experience in debt recovery or collections is a plus.
• HBSC Net Experts is a bonus.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant working experience, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
• Familiarity with Malaysian tax and statutory compliance requirements is an advantage.
• Partial or full LCCI / ACCA / professional accounting qualification is a plus.

• Location: Sungai Buloh, Selangor (on-site)
• Working Model: On-site, full-time
• Working Hours: Standard office hours, Monday to Friday
