Anugerah Saintifik Sdn. Bhd. (ASSB) is a Malaysian medical and laboratory equipment supplier headquartered in Puchong, Selangor.

Established in 1999, ASSB works with internationally recognised manufacturers to provide medical, laboratory and diagnostic solutions to hospitals, laboratories, universities, research institutions and healthcare organisations across Malaysia.

With technical and sales teams covering Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, ASSB provides equipment supply, installation, servicing, technical support and customer training.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on engineering professional ready to progress into technical leadership.

You will remain actively involved in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance, while taking on increasing responsibility for engineer coordination, project execution, customer support and team development.

This role is designed as a career pathway towards Technical Manager, working closely with the Technical Manager and management team while receiving manufacturer training and exposure to hospital and laboratory projects nationwide.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Operations

• Plan and monitor equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and provide technical support to engineers and technicians.
• Review technical issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Ensure service activities follow manufacturer specifications and ASSB procedures.

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Coordinate manpower for service calls, installations, PM and breakdowns.
• Guide, mentor and support Service Engineers and Technicians.
• Monitor work quality and support technical development of junior staff.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate medical and laboratory equipment installation projects.
• Monitor project schedules, manpower and progress.
• Ensure installations meet customer and manufacturer requirements.
• Review commissioning, handover and project documentation.
• Support customer acceptance testing and project completion.

Customer & Technical Support

• Provide technical consultation at customer sites.
• Support product demonstrations, user training and technical presentations.
• Handle technical complaints and coordinate resolutions.
• Maintain professional relationships with hospitals, laboratories and end users.

Documentation & Compliance

• Review service, PM and installation reports.
• Maintain technical documentation and SOPs with the Technical Executive.
• Support compliance with Medical Device Authority (MDA) requirements, GDPMDS and manufacturer standards.

Manufacturer & Principal Coordination

• Liaise with international manufacturers and principals on technical matters.
• Coordinate warranty claims, spare parts and technical enquiries.
• Attend manufacturer training and product updates.
• Escalate complex issues to the Technical Manager when required.

RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Medical Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience servicing medical devices, laboratory equipment, diagnostic instruments or related healthcare technology.
• Practical experience in installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Able to work with technical manuals, wiring diagrams, service documentation and diagnostic procedures.

Communication & Leadership

• Strong spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to communicate confidently with international manufacturers, principals and customers.
• Comfortable presenting and explaining technical issues.
• Experience guiding, mentoring or coordinating engineers/technicians is preferred.

Other Requirements

• Willing to travel throughout Malaysia.
• Valid Malaysian driving licence.
• Own transport preferred.
• Basic understanding of Malaysian medical device regulations and MDA requirements.

Added Advantage

• Experience with a medical device distributor or manufacturer.
• Experience supporting government or private hospitals.
• Manufacturer-certified technical training.
• Experience conducting product demonstrations or user training.
• Supervisory or technical leadership experience.
• Familiarity with healthcare procurement and tender processes.
• Knowledge of LIS, equipment connectivity or healthcare IT integration.

Career Development

This position is designed to develop the successful candidate into a future Technical Manager.

The role provides exposure to manufacturer training, nationwide hospital and laboratory projects, technical leadership, customer and principal management, project implementation, regulatory compliance and team development.

At ASSB, the Technical Manager is a single Head-of-Department position. The Assistant Technical Manager will serve as the direct development pathway towards that role as the department grows.

Progression will be based on technical capability, leadership performance, customer management, project delivery and business needs, subject to management approval.

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering/technical discipline, AND
• At least 3 years of hands-on medical/laboratory equipment servicing experience.
