We are looking for an IT Infrastructure & Support Engineer to support, maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, systems, networks and end-user environments.

The role involves a combination of technical support, infrastructure administration, network troubleshooting, server management and on-site/remote customer support. The ideal candidate should be technically hands-on, resourceful and comfortable troubleshooting both hardware and software issues.

Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and practical hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, network, system and connectivity issues.
  • Provide support via phone, helpdesk, remote desktop and on-site troubleshooting.
  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktop PCs, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot shared/network printer connectivity and other peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and business applications.
  • Perform system recovery and troubleshooting for software-related issues, including malware-related incidents.
  • Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi and Internet connectivity.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and network devices.
  • Assist with Internet gateway, firewall configuration, port forwarding and network access issues.
  • Support and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments, including related services such as:
  • Active Directory
  • DNS & DHCP
  • IIS & FTP
  • Remote Desktop
  • MSSQL
  • User accounts, permissions and CAL licences
  • Perform basic Active Directory administration, including creating users, joining/removing computers and managing access permissions.
  • Assist with website and email hosting administration, software installation and system updates.
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure, server, application and network-related issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation of troubleshooting activities, configurations and technical solutions.
  • Guide users and customers professionally through technical issues and ensure good service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors or service providers where escalation or additional technical assistance is required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • Preferably 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, technical support or a related role.
  • Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge and hands-on skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Good understanding of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on knowledge in assembling desktop PCs and troubleshooting hardware-related issues.
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi and network devices.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, user accounts and access permissions.
  • Able to troubleshoot hardware, software, network and connectivity issues systematically.
  • Strong logical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to guide users through simple technical issues via phone or remote desktop support.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Professional, respectful and customer-oriented when dealing with users and clients.
  • Possess own transport and able to travel for on-site support when required.

Added Advantages

The following would be advantageous but are not mandatory:

  • Experience supporting Apple macOS / Mac devices.
  • Knowledge of Linux server installation and administration, preferably Ubuntu or other Linux distributions.
  • Familiarity with Linux services such as Samba, BIND/DNS, DHCP and firewall configuration.
  • Knowledge of virtualisation technologies, such as VMware, KVM or QEMU.
  • Familiarity with Docker containers.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Basic understanding of backup, disaster recovery and endpoint security.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management or helpdesk/ticketing systems.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco or equivalent would be an added advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
