We are seeking a Software Engineering & AI Transformation Intern to support software development, application enhancement, testing, documentation, and selected AI, automation, and transformation initiatives. The intern will work with the software team on real business applications and gain exposure to software delivery, emerging technologies, technical experimentation, and engineering process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development & Support

• Assist in developing, enhancing, testing, and maintaining internal or project-based applications.
• Support front-end, back-end, database, API, integration, or configuration tasks under team guidance.
• Read existing code and documentation, investigate issues, troubleshoot defects, and verify fixes.
• Support user testing, deployment preparation, implementation, and post-release support.
• Prepare and update technical notes, user guides, configuration records, and support documentation.

AI, Automation & Transformation Support

• Support suitable AI, automation, data, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Assist with research, prototyping, API integration, data preparation, testing, and evaluation.
• Help compare technical approaches and document findings, limitations, risks, and recommendations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for coding, testing, research, and documentation where appropriate.

Project Delivery & Knowledge Support

• Work with developers, technical leads, project managers, and users to understand requirements and expected outcomes.
• Assist in breaking requirements into manageable tasks and provide regular progress updates.
• Raise blockers, risks, and uncertainties early.
• Help capture technical knowledge, lessons learned, setup instructions, troubleshooting guides, and reusable team documentation.
• Participate in reviews, demonstrations, handovers, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Quality & Process Support

• Follow agreed coding, testing, version-control, documentation, security, and release practices.
• Perform basic unit, functional, regression, or integration testing and maintain clear evidence.
• Support issue logs, test results, deployment records, and quality or compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, repeatability, or automation.

Job Requirements

Education

• Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, AI, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Final Year Project (FYP) must be software development-related and involve hands-on application, system, platform, or software solution development.

Technical Foundation

• Basic understanding of programming, web application development, databases, APIs, debugging, and software testing.
• Exposure to one or more programming languages or development frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Git, or related development tools is an advantage.
• Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, Python, APIs, or personal/academic technical projects is an advantage.

• Able to investigate problems systematically and document findings clearly.
• Responsible, organised, and able to work with reasonable independence.
