• Basic knowledge of automotive systems is an advantage.

• Previous practical workshop experience is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.

• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and servicing.

• Willing to learn vehicle diagnostic procedures and equipment.

• Basic understanding of workshop tools and equipment.

• Able to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.

Job Description (JD)

Position Overview

The Automotive Technician Intern will support the Service and Workshop Team in carrying out vehicle inspection, maintenance, servicing, and basic repair work under the supervision of qualified technicians. The internship provides practical exposure to automotive workshop operations, vehicle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and after-sales service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in carrying out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.

• Assist with vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting under supervision.

• Support oil changes, filter replacement, brake inspection, battery checks, tyre checks, and other basic maintenance activities.

• Assist technicians in diagnosing vehicle problems using appropriate tools and equipment.

• Learn and assist in the use of automotive diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.

• Assist with inspection and maintenance of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.

• Support repair and replacement of vehicle components under proper supervision.

• Assist in preparing vehicles for service, inspection, test drive, and customer delivery.

• Follow workshop procedures, repair instructions, and manufacturer service standards.

• Maintain cleanliness and proper organisation of the workshop, tools, and work areas.

• Handle workshop tools and equipment properly and safely.

• Assist in maintaining accurate service and repair records.

• Report vehicle defects, safety concerns, damaged tools, or abnormal conditions to the supervising technician.

• Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.

• Learn and understand proper automotive repair and maintenance practices.

• Support the Service Advisor and Workshop Team when required.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or Service Manager.
