The Research Assistant position focuses on the development of a heavy-duty dexterous robotic manipulation system for autonomous container coning/deconing in future smart ports. The appointee will contribute to the design, prototyping, integration, and experimental validation of robotic hardware and manipulation systems, including electro-hydraulic actuation, dexterous robotic hands, teleoperation platforms, tactile sensing, and robot system integration. Responsibilities include hardware prototyping, mechanical assembly, experimental testing, data collection, laboratory validation, and supporting technology translation in collaboration with industrial partners. The Research Assistant will also assist in maintaining robotic platforms, preparing technical documentation, and supporting research publications and project deliverables.
Grant Program Administration: Act as the primary administrative liaison for the NUS Seed Grant Program by tracking project milestones and coordinating progress reports between Principal Investigators (PIs) and funding bodies.
c) Integrate planning and control algorithms with differentiable simulation technologies to build a trajectory data collection system that generates high-quality, diverse task data for vision-language-action learning, enabling seamless integration from human instructions to robotic actions in complex mobile manipulation scenarios.
The research project focuses on developing real2sim2real learning and control methodologies for acquiring robust dexterous manipulation skills in complex, content-rich environments.
