ABOUT

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Chemist to manage the analytical and quality control activities of our fertilizer laboratory. The role will oversee laboratory testing, analytical methods and QC processes while working closely with the Production, Quality Control and Technical teams to ensure accurate and reliable test results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct sample preparation and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process materials and finished fertilizer products.
• Perform routine fertilizer testing including NH4-N, NO3-N, Urea-N, P₂O₅, K₂O, SO₄, SO₃, Ca, MgO, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, B, As, moisture and pH, as applicable.
• Develop, implement and maintain analytical methods, SOPs, test methods and work instructions.
• Perform laboratory QA/QC, including blanks, standards, duplicates, spikes and Certified Reference Materials (CRM).
• Investigate abnormal or out-of-specification results, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Operate, maintain and coordinate calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports and traceability in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Support laboratory setup, technical troubleshooting and training of laboratory technicians or junior chemists.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in chemical, fertilizer, manufacturing or related industries.
• Certified/registered with Institut Kimia Malaysia (IKM) and qualified to sign laboratory analytical reports/test results where required.
• Hands-on experience in chemical analysis, laboratory QA/QC, analytical methods and equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, method validation and laboratory documentation will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and help establish a new laboratory operation and team.
• Must be willing and able to work at Telok Gong, Klang.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
