Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
Reading Plans:
Study blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to calculate required materials and dimensions.
Preparing Materials:
Mix mortar, sand, and cement by hand or using mechanical mixers.
Laying Masonry:
Spread mortar with a trowel and place bricks or stones into position with precision.
Aligning Structures:
Use spirit levels, laser levels, and plumb lines to check horizontal and vertical alignment.
Cutting and Shaping:
Trim and cut bricks to fit irregular spaces using hand tools, chisels, or power saws.
Repair and Maintenance:
Clean, repair, and repoint old or damaged mortar joints and cracked walls.
Site Safety:
Erect scaffolding, use safety gear, and follow workplace health and safety
