Senior Manager Engineering
Job Purpose
Leads the Engineering department at NGC Sepang, setting the technical strategy, capital-project roadmap and reliability agenda for all production-support engineering (process, utilities, facilities and automation) across the complex.
Key Responsibilities
Own the engineering strategy, annual capex/opex budget and multi-year asset-reliability roadmap for the NGC site.
Provide technical governance over plant & process engineering, control & instrumentation, utilities and facility engineering teams.
Lead major capital projects (new lines, capacity expansion, automation upgrades) from feasibility through commissioning.
Set and monitor OEE, uptime, energy-efficiency and maintenance-cost KPIs across the engineering function.
Chair engineering risk reviews (process safety, utilities continuity, equipment obsolescence) and drive corrective actions.
Develop succession plans and technical capability-building programmes for Managers, Senior Engineers and Engineers.
Represent Engineering in senior management / plant leadership meetings and liaise with regulators, vendors and OEMs on strategic matters.
Champion sustainability and energy-transition initiatives (utilities optimisation, renewable/energy-efficiency projects).
Requirements & Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering; Professional Engineer (PEng/Ir) registration preferred.
15–20 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a department-head capacity in a large manufacturing plant.
Proven track record leading capital projects and multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a 24/7 continuous-process environment.
Strong command of reliability-centred maintenance, process-safety management and manufacturing excellence frameworks (TPM/Lean/Six Sigma).
Demonstrated budget ownership and vendor/contractor management experience.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and executive communication skills.
