Job Purpose:
To provide excellent guest service by handling check-in, check-out, reservations, and guest inquiries efficiently and courteously. The Front Office Assistant ensures smooth front desk operations in line with hotel standards, promoting guest satisfaction and maintaining the professional image of the property.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Service & Front Desk Operations
- Welcome and greet guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Handle check-in, check-out, and room assignments accurately and efficiently.
- Manage guest registration, payment, and billing procedures according to hotel policy.
- Provide information on hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism.
2. Reservation & Communication
- Handle room reservations through phone, email, or online booking systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of room availability, rates, and promotions.
- Ensure accurate and timely input of guest data into the Property Management System (PMS).
- Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
3. Telephone Etiquette & Confidentiality
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously using the hotel’s standard greetings.
- Transfer calls to appropriate departments or staff efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and hotel matters at all times.
4. Cashiering & Record Keeping
- Handle guest payments, deposits, and refunds accurately.
- Maintain proper cash float and ensure all transactions are balanced at the end of each shift.
- Prepare reports such as occupancy, arrivals, departures, and cash summaries.
- Assist with night audit and financial reconciliation as required.
5. Appearance & Professionalism
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance according to hotel grooming standards.
- Demonstrate positive attitude, teamwork, and courtesy toward guests and colleagues.
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
6. Compliance & Hotel Standards
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Front Office Department.
- Comply with hotel policies on safety, security, and confidentiality.
- Uphold the hotel’s brand standards and contribute to a positive guest experience.
Job Requirement :
- Candidate must possess at least a SPM/STPM, Diploma or equivalent;
- Fresh graduates are encourage to apply;
- Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia;
- Able to communicate in Mandarin is advantage.
- Pleasant personality with a friendly approach and well groomed;
- Enjoy providing top services towards customers;
- Must be responsible, hardworking and have pleasant personality;
- Ability to work on shift;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Able to work independently under minimum supervision;
Pay: From RM1,800.00 per month
