Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized and small-group lessons tailored to students’ specific learning, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Develop, implement, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or equivalent learning plans
- Adapt teaching methods, materials, and assessments to accommodate different abilities and learning styles
- Monitor, document, and report student progress regularly
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, counselors, and other educators to support student development
- Manage classroom behavior using positive and effective strategies
- Support students’ social, emotional, and life skills development
- Participate in meetings, training, and professional development as required
Requirements:
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Degree or certification in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays)
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices
- Ability to cater to individual student needs with patience and empathy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a special education or inclusive classroom setting
- Training in behavior management, intervention strategies, or therapy-based approaches
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive learning tools
