Job Description

Responsibilities

Currently our office is located at Damansara Utama. Expected to move to Glenmarie, Shah Alam in 1st Quarter of Year 2027.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent professional legal qualification.
  • Called to the Bar and/or completion of chambering is an added advantage (not mandatory).
  • 1–3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in construction, property, or corporate legal practice.
  • Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken); Mandarin is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and vet a wide range of legal documents for the Group, subsidiaries, and associated entities, including:
  • Construction contracts (main contracts, subcontracts, consultancy agreements)
  • Letters of award, variation orders, and contractual correspondence
  • NDAs, MOUs, and other commercial agreements
  • Provide legal advice and support to internal departments on contractual, compliance, and operational matters.
  • Assist in contract administration, including monitoring contractual obligations, timelines, and risk exposure.
  • Handle dispute management matters, including:
  • Liaising with external solicitors
  • Assisting in adjudication (e.g., CIPAA), arbitration, and litigation
  • Preparing documentation and case summaries
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, particularly within the construction and property development sector.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the business.
  • Support corporate exercises such as due diligence, restructuring, and regulatory filings.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to engage with internal stakeholders and external parties.

Additional Information

  • Exposure to construction law frameworks (e.g., PAM contracts, CIPAA) is an added advantage.
  • Experience in construction claims, EOT, LAD, variation orders, and contract disputes is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with CIDB-related frameworks and standard form contracts is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPAA) and dispute resolution processes (adjudication, arbitration, litigation) is advantageous.
  • Experience in corporate and commercial matters, including due diligence and regulatory compliance, will be an added benefit.
  • Ability to manage group-level legal matters across multiple entities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management skills in contract negotiation and project execution.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Willing to travel to project sites and attend meetings when required.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
