Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated junior team member for a hybrid role covering software quality assurance, backend system support and business analysis. You will work closely with developers, business teams, insurer partners and clients to understand requirements, test system functionality, investigate operational issues and help ensure that our digital insurance platforms operate reliably.

Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Quality Assurance

• Prepare and execute test cases based on business and system requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API and user acceptance testing.
• Test web portals, mobile-responsive platforms, internal systems and insurance APIs.
• Identify, document and track system bugs until resolution.
• Provide clear evidence of defects, including screenshots, videos, logs and reproduction steps.
• Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing before production releases.
• Maintain testing checklists, test scripts and release sign-off records.
• Support UAT sessions with internal users, partners and clients.
• Conduct post-deployment testing to confirm that production releases are functioning correctly.

Backend and Technical Support

• Monitor backend processes, API responses, scheduled jobs and system transactions.
• Perform first-level investigations into transaction failures, quotation issues, payment errors and policy issuance problems.
• Review system logs and database records under the guidance of senior developers.
• Assist with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Validate data received from insurers, payment gateways and business partners.
• Support data checking, reconciliation and basic database queries.
• Escalate technical issues to the development team with complete supporting information.
• Assist developers with minor backend configurations, data corrections and system maintenance tasks.
• Maintain records of technical incidents, resolutions and recurring system issues.

Business Analysis

• Gather requirements from internal departments, clients, insurers and business partners.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Document current and proposed system processes.
• Prepare process flows, requirement documents, meeting minutes and change requests.
• Coordinate with developers to ensure requirements are properly understood.
• Clarify business rules relating to quotations, payments, commissions, renewals, policy issuance and claims.
• Support sprint planning, backlog updates and project status tracking.
• Coordinate UAT feedback and confirm whether delivered features meet the agreed requirements.
• Assist in preparing system guides, standard operating procedures and user training materials.
• Follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure projects and system fixes are completed on time.

Typical Work Allocation

• Software QA and testing: 50%
• Business analysis and documentation: 30%
• Backend and technical support: 20%

The actual allocation may change according to project and operational requirements.Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Technology or a related field.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to two years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of software development and testing processes.
• Basic knowledge of APIs, databases and backend systems.
• Able to prepare clear documentation and communicate requirements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and follow through until completion.
• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work effectively in a hybrid working environment.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

Experience or basic familiarity with the following would be an advantage:

• Postman or other API-testing tools
• SQL and relational databases
• Jira, Trello, ClickUp or similar project-management tools
• Test-case and defect-tracking systems
• Process-flow or wireframing tools
• JSON and REST APIs
• Git or source-control concepts
• Insurance, fintech, payment or e-commerce platforms
• Backend programming frameworks

Employment Package

• Monthly salary of RM3,500–RM4,000, depending on experience and technical capability
