ROLE OVERVIEW

Customer-facing applications role focused on product knowledge, demonstrations, user training, application support and customer relationships. This is not a technical servicing or equipment repair position.

Regular hospital, laboratory and site visits are required, with occasional overnight travel for principal training.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Minimum holds a Bachelor's Degree or Masters in a relevant scientific, healthcare, laboratory or life-science discipline.

Preferred:

• Medical Laboratory Technology / Science, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Clinical / Healthcare Science
• Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences
• Biomedical Engineering, Medical Electronics

Other backgrounds may be considered with strong relevant medical or laboratory product/application experience.

EXPERIENCE — Minimum 1- 2 YEARS

Hands-on experience in a government or private hospital, clinical laboratory or clinic.

Preferred:

• Medical Laboratory Technologist, MLT, lab assistant or equivalent experience
• Exposure to haematology, biochemistry, microbiology or point-of-care testing
• User-level experience running, calibrating or troubleshooting laboratory instruments
• Exposure to QC, sample handling or laboratory accreditation such as MS ISO 15189

Previous sales, applications or vendor experience is not required; training will be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct product demonstrations and hands-on training for hospital and laboratory users
• Provide on-site application support and troubleshoot user-level workflow issues
• Support evaluations and document customer feedback
• Maintain visit, demonstration and training records
• Shadow senior Application Specialists and attend principal training
• Progressively manage routine customer sites and demonstrations independently

CUSTOMER & COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT

Work across government/private hospitals, laboratories, universities, research institutions, exhibitions and principal/manufacturer locations. Work closely with Sales and Business Development to support evaluations, product adoption, training and application support.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Regular travel to customer sites and healthcare/laboratory institutions
• Occasional exhibitions, conferences and principal/manufacturer training
• Valid Malaysian driving licence required; own transportation strongly preferred

CAREER PROGRESSION

Application Executive → Application Specialist → Senior Application Specialist

The first 12–18 months focus on building product and application competency before taking on more complex accounts. Progression is based on product knowledge, application skills, customer confidence, training ability, independence, leadership and contribution.
