Location: Singapore | Buona Vista 

Stern Ingredients Asia-Pacific is looking for a Research & Development Specialist to join our team in Singapore.

This is a hands-on R&D role for someone who enjoys experimenting, solving technical challenges and translating ideas into practical food applications. You will work with functional food ingredients and raw materials, conduct application trials, analyse results and contribute to the development and localization of products for the Asian market.

What you will be doing :

• Develop new products and conduct application trials using functional blends and raw materials.
• Work on recipe formulation, ingredient functionality and raw-material applications.
• Analyse application results and translate findings into technical reports and presentations.
• Support customer projects and present technical results to customers and distributors when required.
• Validation of new raw materials from Central R&D for suitability in Asian applications.
• Contribute fresh ideas to improve and localize our existing product portfolio.
• Independently operate pilot-plant equipment such as UHT plants, homogenizers and Stephan cookers.
• Manage laboratory raw materials, samples and lab consumables and maintain a clean and well-organized laboratory.  

Who we are looking for :

You could be a good match if you have:

• A Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional R&D experience in the food ingredients industry.
• Practical experience working with ingredients such as emulsifiers, stabilizers and/or starches.
• Experience operating relevant pilot-plant equipment (example: UHT) independently.
• A proactive, curious and hands-on approach to product development.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent written and spoken in English
