Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Bid Manager who will be responsible for leading tender evaluation, commercial proposal compilation and risk, bond & contractor management in the organisation’s renewable energy portfolio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine Request for Proposal and Request for Quotation documents to identify commercial risks, bonding requirements, and compliance checklists.
  • Provide recommendations to management on tender opportunities by assessing financial viability, competition, and probability of winning.
  • Coordinate with the Business Development, Financial Modeling and Procurement teams to determine optimal bid price and maximize winning chances while protecting profit margins.
  • Lead the end-to-end preparation and assembly of the entire commercial bid package.
  • Act as the central point of contact to collect and organise all necessary corporate documents such as financial data and corporate legal documents from internal teams.
  • Ensure strict compliance with commercial criteria outlined by the tendering authority.
  • Work with banks and internal Finance team to secure Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, and Letters of Credit required for the tender.
  • Create and maintain a risk matrix identifying currency risks, inflation impacts, and political risks for each specific country tender.
  • Ensure that local partners and subcontractors provide commercial inputs that align with master tender submission.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering with a strong commercial focus.
  • Proven experience submitting commercial bids for large infrastructure or utility-scale energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of legal and commercial terms within tender frameworks, such as liquidated damages, liabilities, and price escalation formulas.
  • Ability to understand tariff calculations, Capex/Opex impacts on pricing, and currency hedging structures.
  • Strong ability to manage tight deadlines and drive internal stakeholders to deliver their inputs on time.
  • Ability to write clear, persuasive, and professional business proposals.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Self-driven, meticulous, proactive, good team player, good interpersonal & communication skills with a keen analytical mind.
