Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Support pharmacists in the safe, accurate and timely preparation, dispensing and distribution of medications. Assist in pharmacy operations, inventory management, automation systems and patient services to ensure smooth day-to-day pharmacy workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Pharmacy Operations

  • Process medication orders and prescriptions accurately.
  • Pick, pack, label and dispense medications according to established procedures.
  • Support inpatient, outpatient and emergency pharmacy services.
  • Assist pharmacists with simple medication counselling and patient enquiries.

Inventory & Medication Management

  • Maintain medication inventory and ensure proper storage according to required conditions.
  • Conduct stock replenishment, cycle counts and stock checks.
  • Receive and verify incoming pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with medication safety and pharmacy operational standards.

Automation & Technology

  • Support automated dispensing and medication repackaging systems.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues related to automation systems.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of repackaged medications.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency.

Compounding Services for Lab and Oncology Pharmacy (where applicable)

  • Prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products under supervision, including: Chemotherapy preparations, IV admixtures, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN).
  • Perform quality checks and ensure compliance with compounding standards.

Quality & Service Excellence

  • Provide professional and courteous service to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science; or
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPTC);

Experience

  • Fresh Diploma graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Prior pharmacy-related experience in a healthcare setting will be advantageous.
