Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description Greenpeace Southeast Asia has grown over the past two decades into a regional organization with offices in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia, supported by thousands of volunteers and supporters. The organization focuses on urgent environmental and social challenges, including the climate emergency, protection of forests and oceans, and the rights to clean air and healthy food systems for local communities. Using non-violent, creative action, Greenpeace Southeast Asia works to challenge harmful systems and promote sustainable, peaceful solutions. The organization is independently funded by individual donors and private foundations, ensuring integrity in its campaigns and fundraising. Greenpeace Southeast Asia is an equal opportunity employer that actively fosters a diverse, respectful, and inclusive work environment where selection is based solely on merit and abilities.

Role Description The Supporter Relationship Coordinator is a full-time role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with individual supporters, ensuring they feel informed, appreciated, and engaged with Greenpeace Southeast Asia’s mission and campaigns. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to supporter inquiries, managing contact and preference data, coordinating stewardship activities such as thank-you communications and updates, and supporting donor retention and loyalty initiatives. The coordinator will work closely with fundraising, communications, and campaign teams to develop supporter journeys, prepare materials for outreach, and track engagement metrics. The role also involves assisting with events, online engagement activities, and feedback collection to continually improve supporter experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong relationship management and customer/supporter service skills, with the ability to communicate empathetically and professionally across diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional regional languages is an advantage.
  • Competence in data management, CRM or supporter database systems, and basic reporting to monitor engagement and retention.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfort with digital tools and online communication channels, including email, social media, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental, social justice, or nonprofit causes, with an understanding of Greenpeace’s values and campaign work.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural, inclusive work environment and to uphold non-discriminatory, gender-neutral, and respectful practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, social sciences, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
